FPDA Governance

The FPDA committee structure enables regular consultation among FPDA member-nations.

  • FPDA Defence Ministers Meeting (FDMM)

    The FDMM is the helm of the FPDA and provides the overall strategic direction for the Arrangements.

  • FPDA Defence Chiefs' Conference (FDCC)

    The scope of the FDCC is to discuss and deliberate on professional maters within the framework of the FPDA.

  • FPDA Consultative Council (FCC)

    The scope of the FCC is to:

    • Provide initial consultation between FPDA member-nations in the event of any emergency affecting the external defence of Malaysia and Singapore;

    • Consider other issues of joint interest which may arise vis-à-vis the defence arrangements; consult on matters in relation to the area defence of Malaysia and Singapore; and

    • Report to the FDMM on policy matters and financial and administrative arrangements, and receive direction from the FDMM.

  • FPDA Policy Group (FPG)

    Given the iterative process between the formulation of FPDA policy and professional development, the FPDA Activities Coordinating Committee (FACC) supports the FPG with professional views on exercises and activities, while the FPG gives policy guidance where relevant to FPDA activities and exercises.

  • FPDA Activities Coordinating Committee (FACC)

    The FACC meets biannually to discuss exercise schedules, review and recommend FPDA activities, and implement higher direction.
