IFWC 2024
The IFWC 24 is a three-week foundation course held at HQIADS (Headquarters Integrated Air Defence System), designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Five Power Defence Arrangement (FPDA). The course aims to familiarize participants with the structure, history, background, and policies of the FPDA, while also introducing them to joint and combined warfare doctrines and procedures used by the member nations.
Throughout the course, participants will engage in a blend of formal classroom lectures, field visits, and scenario-based exercises. The classroom sessions cover the history and operational framework of the FPDA, as well as the key defense policies that guide its member nations. Additionally, the course explores the joint military strategies adopted by the FPDA nations, focusing on how these nations cooperate during joint and combined military operations.
A significant component of the course includes visits to Malaysian and Singaporean Armed Forces units, where participants will have the opportunity to observe firsthand the operations, capabilities, and defense structures of these two nations. These visits offer practical exposure to the real-world application of FPDA policies.
The course also includes scenario-based exercises that simulate real-world defense situations. These exercises allow participants to apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the lectures and practice coordination and decision-making in joint operations involving multiple FPDA nations.
In summary, the IFWC 24 is designed to enhance participants' understanding of the FPDA’s strategic objectives, foster inter-nation cooperation, and prepare them for effective participation in multinational defense operations.
