Exercise Bersama Shield 24

Exercise Bersama Shield- an annual exercise between the five nations in the Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA) has begun in Malaysia.

 

The Exercise will provide tactical-level training for air, land and maritime FPDA defence forces in a multi-threat environment off the coast of Malaysia. The exercise began with an opening address from the Exercise Director, Colonel Lau Mun Leng (Republic of Singapore Air Force) re-iterating the opportunity the Exercise provides to enhance interoperability and strengthen professional military relationships.

Exercise Bersama Shield 2024 includes 16 fighter aircraft, 10 support aircraft, 1 helicopter, 3 ships and 140 personnel from all five nations. Up to 720 personnel (primarily air force and maritime) from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore and United Kingdom are supporting the exercise, based in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore and approved FPDA training areas.
